Hello, today I got a notification on my shopify app that there is an issue with my CNAME.
Your domain’s CNAME record doesn’t point to Shopify
My website still loads properly. Also in incognito mode. I am using GoDaddy for my domain. I went into the DNS settings and have added another record I believe correctly.
Though again, everything seems to be working normally. I’m just confused as per why I have this error.
Can you share a screenshot of the error message you’re seeing within your Shopify app?
It’ll also be a great help if you can share your domain with us, so that we can cross-check its CNAME and other DNS settings using our tooling.
You also mentioned recently adding another record to your DNS settings — can you confirm for me what exactly you’ve added please? As this will help us get the full picture of your domain situation, seeing as you mentioned it’s being hosted by a third-party provider (GoDaddy), which means that our scope of support with it may be slightly limited.
Thanks for providing that screenshot for me. I’ve tried accessing your website and can do so successfully as well. However upon checking your domain’s DNS records here, it looks like the CNAME is showing up as smalltechgaming.ca rather than what it is meant to show, which is shops.myshopify.com.
Can you let me know how long it has been since you’ve made changes to your domain’s DNS records?
It can typically take up to 48 hours for any changes to propagate fully, however if it has been more than that perhaps there may be something that is preventing it from updating. Because your domain is hosted by GoDaddy however, I recommend reaching out to them directly so that they can take a closer look at the domain from their end to verify its settings.
