Why am I seeing fewer sales despite increased ad spend?

Hi All, I’ve been going through this community and was wondering if someone could give me some advise on a certain subject.

I have finally gone and given it a good go at properly setting up an active website selling flowers. Mainly preserved flowers and novelty items. Not to toot my own horn but our items are handmade and quite different from whats in the market. I also run ads on Facebook using ad campaigns and boosted posts.

Previously what I found was that I’d get sales when I did ads but now closing into the Christmas period and me going full throttle on the ads, it seems I’m getting less to no traction. I’d budget 15-20 dollars a day for ads and get nowhere whereby in the past I’d just throw the occasional 5 dollars around and would get at least multiple enquiries.

Am I doing something wrong?

Hi @MyFlowerDiaries ,

I know it has to be frustrating for you that you’re spending more and more money on ads and the purchases aren’t coming. With the xmas season, many eshops are investing and increasing their ads budget – not only IG and FB but also Google, Pinterest and other online (and offline) marketing channels. Therefore, with $15-20, you won’t be probably winning the ad auction.

If you can’t and don’t want to invest more in the ads, I recommend looking into other marketing channels. E.g. Pinterest – maybe you could set up Pinterest account with some DIY ideas to make out of flowers? Or some xmas decorations? Plus, on social media, you don’t need to run only ads, you can build your audience (community) – e.g. sharing some decoration tips, organizing a competition…Or you can also set up blog on your site with tips & tricks again for some home, garden decorations and so on.

I know that these activities don’t usually bring direct sales but they help you grow your brand and in the end, grow your audience and bring sales.

Maybe this could help?
