Why am I still being billed after deactivating my accounts?

I’ve tried going through the online customer support screens I went through every option and could not find a solution to my problem. My problem is I am still being billed a fee for my Shopify accounts when I deactivated them months ago. Can someone tell me what to do and how to stop this billing process. I deactivated and close out my accounts months ago. Therefore I should not be billed or have funds taken out of my account via automatic draft. Please help thank you in advance. Another question why is it so difficult to try and get help on this platform. I think that is a major red flag and a problem that may need to be addressed in the future.

Hi, @xporter .

Welcome to the Shopify Community and thank you for sharing your feedback.

I can definitely understand your concern and the urgency to have this resolved. Although the current situation is not ideal, I want to assure you that I will make every effort to provide you with more information and guide you on how to receive the necessary assistance.

You mentioned that you deactivated your Shopify accounts months ago however, you’re still being billed. Prior to deactivating your Shopify store, you’ll want to ensure the following:

  • Make sure that you pay any outstanding charges that you might have. If you have no outstanding charges against your account, then you won’t receive a bill after deactivating your store.

  • If you have any third-party apps that have your payment information outside of Shopify, then cancel your service with those apps to avoid being billed externally after you deactivate your store.

  • Make sure to turn off auto-renewal for your custom domain on your registrar’s website to avoid unexpected charges.

To view the full list, please see our pausing or deactivating your store resource.

Another option is to use our Recovery Tool to ensure there are no additional stores created under your email address. You can use the tool by entering your email address which will send you a list of store(s) created using that email address to your inbox.

Lastly, you mentioned you’ve been experiencing issues contacting support. When accessing the Shopify Help Center, are you able to log into your account and select a support topic? After selecting a support topic, you should be able to see our available contact options displayed. @made4Uo has shared some helpful steps and screenshots on how to contact support.
