I have had my Shopify site for 1.5 years & have never run into this. I’ve tried to contact chat support about 20 different ways today & it continues to make me choose my shop & log in which I do, then when I try reach chat again, it takes me to the same page that makes me log into my shop… it’s round & round we go… any suggestions would be greatly appreciated because I’m about ready to rip my hair out!

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this, it sounds very frustrating!
I just successfully logged in and was able to connect with our Chat support, so perhaps you are experiencing a local issue. I would definitely recommend clearing your cache to see if it helps.
If not, my next recommendation would be to select the option to “Continue without logging in” instead of logging into your store. You will not be pre-authenticated when selecting this option, so be sure to have your account details present so you can easily answer some authentication questions.
