Hello everyone, I just had my first sale about two weeks ago and I’ve been running a traffic ad the last week with Facebook. My analytics look like this and I’m honestly not sure what good numbers look like cause this is my first successful order lol. I was just trying to get some advice on why so many people might reach checkout and not purchase. It works perfectly fine so that’s pretty confusing to me. I know there’s a lot of traffic without interaction as well, but I’m mainly trying to get my pixel data so I’m not optimized for conversions yet. I appreciate any feedback sincerely. Only one order, other two were me testing it
So, to begin with, it’s great that you’re getting traffic and add-to-carts!
This also indicates that the issue may not necessarily be with your products (since people are expressing some form of interest in them), but with other aspects of the customer journey.
It might help to think of yourself as a shopper/customer. Often, we go to a store (even in person), browse, and decide we’ll come back and get something later. This is where re-targeting ads may help you. This way you can reach out to those customers who’d expressed a little interest, warm them up over time, and get them to come back and complete a purchase.
You might also want to consider exit pop-ups with a small but significant discount to nudge them to complete their purchase.
Additionally, my initial reaction was that your products are on the pricier end, but that’s also because I am unfamiliar with outdoor equipment. I did notice that a lot of the items said “On Sale”—it might be helpful to indicate what % is off? Using an app like ModeMagic can help you automate that as you change your prices or discounts.
There are a few other small fixes I’d suggest (ex: capitalizing your collection names, keeping a consistent font on your product page, missing/incomplete details on some product pages—like the sleeping bag, etc) but I don’t think those are necessarily your immediate priorities since you’re looking for advice on converting your add-to-cart into sales. Perhaps post that step, you can look at getting more add-to-carts!
