Why are fulfilled orders still appearing in bold?

We have a couple of orders that have been fulfilled in a completely normal manner and still show in bold when we open up orders (and we always see “2” next to orders on the menu at the left hand side when I’m in the main page of the store admin). See attached PDF for a screenshot.

These were not partially refunded or anything unusual. The order came in, they were fulfilled as per usual, and simply never changed from showing as bold, even though they look exactly like every order around them.

Any ideas what the issue might be here and how to fix it?

From your description of the issue, it sounds like your orders are still open and not archived.

When you’re in your orders list screen and you open up the Open tab, you’ll find all of the orders that are in various stages but they are all open and not archived.

There are 2 things you can do. The 1st is to archive what you don’t need open anymore. In order to do that you can follow our Help Center guide steps. The 2nd thing you should do is to automate the archiving process. We also have a guide that walks through the specific steps on how to do that in your admin.

By default, this automatic archiving is set to be on, but merchants can turn it off. If you had someone build your site you may have had them turn it off at the time.

Automating processes in your daily business efforts will become extremely important as your business grows. Remember that the less time you spend on small repetitive tasks the more time you’ll have to build strategy and marketing plans to increase your revenue over time.
