Why are multiple products not importing correctly from csv file?

Dear Shopify,

We are trying to import our products from our csv file.

We have already tried importing 1 product for a test and we had all the correct formats from the template.

The test import of 1 product was successful and we were able to see it in the products list.

But now that we are importing quite a number of products, it’s no longer working.

Any idea why is that so?

We have also tried importing again a single product just to see if that would be imported, it was actually successfully imported but that product isn’t visible in the products list. The name of the product is “Medium Weight Leopard Print Gauze Sweater”.

I’ve attached our csv file so you can check it. I’m also wondering how our other trial import says it’s successful but the product can’t be found in the products list.

If you’re uploading a larger number of products, then it’s possible that the upload can take a several hours depending on the size of the CSV file(s). On that note, it’s also possible and more likely for larger imports to get stuck, so we’d recommend uploading products using smaller batches (eg. 50-200 products) and a number of CSV files as well.

That being said, if you’re not seeing any changes to your product listings, then it looks like we’ll need to access your account in order to check if there’s a stuck import. While we’re unable to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chat, email, or callback. Thank you for your prompt reply.

We actually have just a few products to import. It’s just about 20 or so products. And the 3 products that we tried to import were done in 3 separate csv files. So meaning, we only imported 1 product per file for a trial. And all those 3 were imported successfully based on the notification we saw on the screen. However, after those 3 import attempts and several page refresh, those products didn’t appear on the product listing. What could be the issue there?

Since the CSV files that you’re uploading aren’t considered big at all, then it’s possible that one of the earlier imports got stuck and it’s causing some issues with subsequent uploads. While I’m unable to access your account and assist you on the Shopify Community, we should be able to clear your store’s caches and free up any stuck uploads. Once that’s done, you shouldn’t experience the same issues with uploading products.
