Why are my customers not seeing SP* on their card statements?

Even though I have Shopify payments enabled, my customers do not see SP* in their card statements starting Jan 2022. previously they used to see SP* and my store name in their transactions with my store. Has Shopify made some change to their Shopify payments platform?

Welcome to the Shopify Community & great question!

I looked into this question for you and found that as of April 22nd, 2022, we have disabled the SP* from the customer billing statement. Customers will only see what you put in the “Customer Statement Description” box.

Have you received reports from customers confused by this change, or has it been a positive change so far?
