Why are my daily orders suddenly decreasing?

Hello everyone,

My co-owner and I run a store (www.westcoastcreatures.com) and have recently had a major drop in orders. In our eyes, we have made great visual improvements to the store, ads, and our social media game. I wanted to see if anyone would take a look and see if they have any ideas.

We are sold out on a lot and have limited products in the first place but we have gone from 3-6 orders a day to maybe 1 a day. Not sure if this is just a bad time of year for the industry as this is the back end of our first year as a business and the vast majority of our time has been on Etsy up until a few months ago.

Any advice, suggestions, tips would be greatly appreciated. We are truly dumbfounded on how this just randomly happened one day with us making no major changes to our content.

January tends to be slower time for sales in my experience ( 5 years now). People are recovering from the amount of money they spent in December, have resolutions to “tighten their budget”, and are waiting for tax returns.

As a leopard gecko owner, I will say that I would be worried about ordering bugs in general right now because its been super cold by me.

Thanks for the reply, I totally get the temperature concerns. It is pretty nice weather for us and sometimes I forget the rest of the country is not in the same boat. Hopefully things naturally pick up coming into February!
