I’m 16, started my own clothing brand a couple months ago with my own domain and instagram page. I earned over $300 in sales, however when I started my shopify store, I set my SSN as my own and could not change it to under my dad’s SSN as I’m under 18. I’ve contacted support over 2 weeks ago and I still never got a response, and I really need the sale money to start distributing my products.
I understand your concern and frustration regarding your Shopify store and your payment processing.
In this situation, I recommend reaching out to Shopify support again via live chat or callbacks and explaining your situation in detail.
In the meantime, you may want to consider using a different payment processor that does not require you to provide your SSN, such as PayPal or Stripe. However, keep in mind that these payment processors may also have age and legal requirements, so be sure to check their terms and conditions carefully.
It’s also a good idea to consult with a lawyer or accountant who can advise you on the legal and tax implications of your business as a minor. They can help you navigate the legal requirements and ensure that you are operating your business in compliance with the law.
I hope this information helps, and I wish you all the best in your business endeavors!
