Why are my pages not linking after changing my site theme?

Topic summary

Main issue: After changing the Shopify theme, all “Pages” (About, FAQs, etc.) and product links route back to the home page instead of their intended content.

What’s confirmed:

  • Pages exist in Admin > Pages and are correctly linked in Navigation. All are assigned the Default page template.
  • In the theme editor, selecting Pages shows “no templates found for pages,” suggesting the new theme may lack page templates (screenshot provided).
  • Attempt to use a metaobject-related template/feature did not resolve the issue.

Additional impact: Products appear where expected but clicking any product also redirects to the home page.

Latest updates: Another participant reports the same problem and asks if a fix was found. No solution or staff guidance is posted yet.

Status: Unresolved. Key unknowns include whether required templates (e.g., page and product JSON templates) are missing in the new theme or if routing/redirect settings are misconfigured. Screenshots are central to understanding the “no templates found” state.

Hi,

I changed my site theme and upon doing so my pages (about, FAQs,etc) do not link and show the home page instead. I have confirmed that the pages are listed under “pages” and are correctly linked in the navigation section. All my pages are tied to the Default page theme template.

When I go to my theme and select pages on the top it shows that no templates found for pages. I added the metaobject theme to try and connect my pages but that also did not work. How can I relink my pages to my new site?

That would be great - it also looks like my products are not linked. They all appear where they should be but when you click on them it brings you back to my home page.

Did you find a fix? I’m having the same issue. Thanks!
