Why are my webhooks constantly failing on oneblushingbride.net?

Topic summary

A Shopify store owner is receiving webhook failure notifications via email for their site oneblushingbride.net, despite having no webhooks configured in their admin panel.

Key Details:

  • Failure notifications reference multiple webhooks: products/create, shop/update, and fulfillments/create
  • Screenshots confirm the webhooks section in Shopify admin shows zero webhooks created
  • Emails are official Shopify notifications, not spam
  • Store operations (creating products, updates, fulfilling orders) appear unaffected

Troubleshooting Suggestions:

  • Check if webhooks were created by apps, developers, or agency partners with appropriate permissions
  • Review Settings > Notifications > Webhooks section for hidden entries
  • Consider whether email might be associated with multiple stores
  • Notifications should subside after 13 consecutive failed attempts and occur max every 2 days per webhook

Current Status:
The discrepancy between receiving failure notifications and having no visible webhooks remains unexplained. Contacting Shopify Support is recommended to resolve this inconsistency.

I keep getting a message that webhooks are failing, and I don’t know if it is a problem or not.

Below are some screenshots. Thanks for your help! My website is oneblushingbride.net

You won’t really be able to determine if it’s a problem or not unless you can figure out what the webhook is being used for and if it’s breaking anything or not. It could have been implemented by an app partner, by a developer or agency you’ve worked with, etc. The user would have had to have the level of permissions to do that. You can take a look at the webhook implementation to see if it gives you a clue. Try looking from your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Notifications, scroll down to the Webhooks section. You can also disable or delete the webhook from there. If you can’t determine the purpose of the webhook then you would probably want the opinion of someone with knowledge about it or perhaps a developer to troubleshoot it.

Let me know if that works out and please like and accept solution if that’s helpful, thanks!

By the way that looks like two separate webhooks being referenced from the screenshots you shared. Could be some different issue that’s impacting multiple webhooks or all webhooks, versus one or two specific webhooks only.

Please like and accept solution if that’s helpful, thanks!

It is very weird because I don’t have any webhooks created (image below).
What do you think?

Thank you for your thoughtful response!

You’re right that’s what it looks like. Where are you getting that webhook failure message from? Somewhere in the shopify admin or somewhere else?

They are official emails from Shopify.

I saw products/create, shop/update, and fulfillments/create for those webhook notifications. If you haven’t experienced any issues creating a new product, making updates to your store, or fulfilling orders, it seems that you’re okay as far as your operations are concerned.

Perhaps theres some other explanation like if you have multiple stores, or if your email is somehow associated with another store that’s experiencing webhook failures.

If your store is okay then you might reach out to Shopify Support to give an explanation for how you’re receiving webhook failure notifications when you don’t have any webhooks created. Also, these notifications should subside after 13 consecutive failed attempts and email frequency should be max every 2 days per webhook. You can see more here on that if it’s helpful https://shopify.dev/docs/apps/webhooks/troubleshooting
