Why are products with valid GTIN failing to publish on Google?

All our products have a valid GTIN. All supplied by the manufacturer. Without exception. But over 1000 products are failing to publish to Google according to our Shopify dashboard, despite the GTIN being visible on the product page.

Google say this is a known issue with the Shopify API. Shopify support are clueless and shrug their shoulders trying to deflect this back to google.

Anyone else seen this and found a fix?

Wondering if you ever found a fix for this. This is currently happening to us we dropship so all my upc, mpn come straight from the factory and manufacturers but I get the same error. Just wondering if you found a fix.
