Hi the descriptions on a few of my products is all wonky. It’s like they’re trying to be in columns instead of one large paragraph. But not all of my products are doing this. I don’t know what I did wrong. The first photo is what it looks like now the second photo is what it’s supposed to look like.

Diagnosis: Formatting was impacted by unwanted HTML in the rich text source. Specifically, two standalone lines containing “>” (blockquote markers) introduced a stylization that forced the text into odd columns.
Actions taken:
- Requested the rich text (HTML) source via the “</>” button in the product editor.
- Identified and removed the two “>” lines causing the issue.
- Tested the cleaned HTML using a free online editor (html-online.com/editor).
- Provided a corrected description to paste into the source view.
Outcome: After replacing the description with the cleaned HTML, the display returned to the expected single-paragraph and list formatting. The issue is resolved.
Notes and tips:
- “Rich text” is the HTML behind the visual editor; blockquote syntax (>) can alter layout.
- Use the source view and an HTML editor to diagnose and remove stray tags or characters in future formatting problems.

To find the rich text version of your product description, please open the product within the admin and click the </> button in the upper right section of the description area (see picture below). Copy all the text that is now in the product description field and paste it into a reply here.

In the text you copied here for me, the second line from the top and the second to last line from the bottom are :

This created a stylization of your description that forced it into those odd columns of text. Upon removing both those lines, the issue was immediately corrected. To test the HTML I used this free editor which is really awesome for creating and troubleshooting rich text: html-online.com/editor.
Here is the new product description, with cleaned up HTML for you to use. You can delete the existing description and copy and paste this into the </> editor in your product:
