Why are unfulfilled orders displaying negative COGS?

I have an order that was taken, unfulfilled, and refunded all in January. Why is the COGS of that order showing up as a negative number in my COGS report? There is no positive offsetting number in the COGS report, just the negative one. If the order was unfulfilled there should be zero COGS, not negative COGS. See screenshots.

Hi there, @JuliaRigits . Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community with your analytics question here. My name is Imogen. It’s good to meet you!

Thanks for providing that screenshot! To set some expectations for you, we’re unable to authenticate users here in the Community, so I’m unable to access your account settings, account data, analytics, or orders, so I won’t have a complete picture of your situation here. Just wanted to make sure I provided that information.

When you issue a refund for an order, it will show as a negative value in your Cost of Goods Sold, or ‘COGS’, report. This is because those refunded items are subtracted from your total sales, which in turn reduces your cost of goods sold.
