Why are webhooks not showing incidents on our order system?

The webhook system is broken. We are getting less than half the orders that come in. Our system needs that data to process the orders.

It’s very frustrating that Shopify doesn’t post this as an incident. It’s been going on for hours. There’s no alert for us and no way to find out what is wrong. We don’t get any ETA or insight into what’s going on.

At the very least, there should be a “minor” incident page that lists things like this. It’s important for us to see that it is broken and when it gets fixed.

For shops like ours, this is not minor. It breaks our business.

Same here, and it’s very sporadic. Good to hear it seems to be a global issue. Now hopefully they get it fixed soon!

Agreed. Shopify support told me they had already received reports and were working on it.

While I was glad to know they are working on it, that makes it even harder to understand why they don’t publish an alert or incident.

Exactly. It seems like an easy solution to post an alert about the issue rather than bog down tech support with calls and emails.

Right. Plus, it would save countless trouble and lost time for Shopify’s customers (that is, us). My first reaction was to check Shopify incidents and alerts. After I didn’t find anything, I had to start digging into everything on our side - running tests, checking databases and logs, etc. Finally, I contacted Shopify support.

There was no point for me to use all that time verifying our systems, when Shopify could very easily have posted an incident hours ago.
