Why aren't breadcrumbs displaying on all my pages?

Topic summary

Breadcrumbs intermittently display across pages; the goal is to show them on all non-homepage pages.

  • On the Motion theme, breadcrumbs are coded to appear only on product pages. There is no built-in setting to enable them sitewide.
  • To display breadcrumbs on other page types (e.g., collections, blog, static pages), custom development is required.

Technical note:

  • Liquid (Shopify’s templating language) would be used to add breadcrumb logic to additional templates.

Actions/Options:

  • Hire a developer or implement custom Liquid code to render breadcrumbs on all relevant templates.

Attachments:

  • Screenshots illustrate pages where breadcrumbs appear vs. do not appear, supporting the issue.

Status:

  • No immediate out-of-the-box solution; the discussion indicates a customization path but remains open without a implemented fix.

Hi guys,

Can anyone help me understand why breadcrumbs show on some of my pages and not on others? I’d like them to show on all the non-homepage pages. How can I do this?

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

@houssamalissa

As far as I am aware, on the Motion theme, those breadcrumbs were coded to be shown exclusively on product pages.

It’d be possible to custom code it so it shows up on every page, though either a developer or proficiency in Liquid would be required to get that done.

Kind regards,
Diego
