Why aren't customer orders showing in the Last Order Placed section?

Topic summary

  • Issue: Test orders created while using the Custom Products Builder app do not appear in the customer profile’s “Last Order Placed” section, although the order does show in the customer “Timeline.” Screenshots were provided to illustrate the mismatch.

  • Likely cause and guidance: Test orders aren’t treated like real orders for certain admin fields. A reply recommends placing an order with a real transaction or using COD (Cash on Delivery) so it will populate the “Last Order Placed” section. Shopify’s test order documentation is referenced for details.

  • Outcome/status: No confirmation yet from the original poster that the suggestion resolved the issue. The working assumption is that only real or COD orders will show in the “Last Order Placed” field, while test orders remain visible in the timeline only. Discussion remains open pending verification.

Hello,

I’m in the process of creating a store that uses the Custom Products Builder app, but after submitting test orders I noticed that the customers profile didn’t include their order in the “Last Order Placed” section. However, the “Timeline” section includes the proper details and links. See images below.

Any ideas on how this happened? Or any ideas on how to fix it?

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!

Hello, @ilikesrobots ,

You should try to place a test with a real transaction or COD, then it will list in the “Last Order Placed” section.
