Why aren't my bulk edits saving in Shopify?

I keep editing the same products over and over and over again. Shopify will not seem to update/save them when I do the edits individually or in a bulk edit. I have spent 30-40 hours now editing all of the data fields for all of my sales channels and unique products just on Shopify (not on the direct sales channel).

STILL… EVERY time I log back into Shopify I am met with the SAME errors stating that the changes I JUST spent hours the previous day fixing are still present.

This is becoming crazymaking- not to mention extremely prohibitive to my sales and function of my store via Shopify. PLEASE HELP!

Hi Moana,

Does it looks like the changes are being made, but then the product reverts after a few minutes? Or are you getting an error when you click save?

If its the standard Shopify product fields (not the Google fields), and it looks like the changes are being made but then a few minutes later the product reverts, it could be another app. I’ve seen behavior like this when there are drop-shipping or inventory management apps installed. These types of programs sometimes sync the Shopify product data with theirs, and will overwrite any changes you make. If that’s the case, you may be able to go into the settings for that app and turn off the syncing.

nope- it’s shopify’s bulk editor… it spins… finally “saves” after a long wait. Looks fine- then a week or so later you find that NOTHING was saved and you have to go through this process again. And again. And again. I’ve been doing this for MONTHS now.

Furthermore- if you DARE to edit more than 25 items at once- forget about it ever saving. the screen will simply sit in a cycle of “trying to save” for an hour or so.

I’ve used other browsers

I’ve used 3 different computers

I’ve used all 3 computers on a different wi-fi

the problem persists

NOPE: Shopify’s “Bulk Editor” is unbearably slow. Half the time- it spins out and NEVER saves. You have to refresh the page and the edits are gone. Or you move on, only to find that Shopify never saved what it looked like it saved.

YES-I have used many browsers, computers & internet signals. This is a pervasive issue within Shopify in GENERAL. I am CONSTANTLY getting “leave page” or “item not saved” warnings right after I clicked “SAVE”. I have tons of screen video showing this error across the platform.

This issue is exhausting and frustrating to say the least. I would prefer to spend more time focusing on SELLING my products rather than trying to get Shopify to properly mange them.

I have this same issue - hours and hours of editing , click save , and when you go back - NOTHIING IS SAVED. Shopify SUCKS
