Why aren't my express checkout buttons appearing?

Hi,

I have a problem with the express checkout buttons, they are not appearing neither in the product page, in the shopping cart or in the checkout. I have activated the dynamic checkout button, I have Shopify Payments correctly installed and papal too. So I guess it my be something that erased the code.

Can anyone please help??

Thank you!!

Try accessing your site from another browser or from your phone.

Hi @MarianaU .

From the screenshots you shared, I can see that you’re viewing your dynamic checkout buttons from within the Theme editor. The dynamic checkout buttons won’t usually show up when viewing the cart and checkout pages of your store on the Theme editor.

However, the button can normally be seen on the product page, but a branded button may not be present when viewing it from the Theme editor. This is as seen on your product page screenshot (first image you shared), where the ‘Buy it now’ button is available instead of a branded PayPal, Amazon Pay, or any other accelerated checkout methods you’ve enabled on your store. The ‘Buy it now’ type of button is what we call an unbranded dynamic checkout button, and it is still very much so an accelerated checkout method as your customer will skip the cart to go straight to the Shopify checkout.

If you’d like to see whether or not your dynamic checkout buttons are present on your store, I suggest viewing your store from the storefront rather than via the Theme editor. Just a note that the button that appears to customers, whether branded or unbranded, is entirely dependent on these factors:

  1. Device and browser compatibility: For example, Apple Pay will only work on Apple devices, using Safari.
  2. Customer’s previous history: If the customer has never logged in or used any of the branded payment methods like Amazon Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, etc., they will likely not be presented any of these branded button options.
  3. Your store’s payment settings: Make sure that your accelerated checkout payment providers have been set up under Settings > Payments on your Shopify admin.
  4. Store currency and buyer’s PayPal account: For example, the INR currency is only supported with India PayPal accounts and not in general, so the generic ‘Buy it now’ button will show in most cases.

Thank you so much for your help! :slightly_smiling_face:

My pleasure @MarianaU !
