Just received my first 2 sales on the platform - I automatically synced my bank account but it’s saying that the payments were not captured. Does anyone know why?

Congratulations on your first sales! ?
On your store’s Settings → Payments page there’s a setting for Automatic or Manual payment capture:
In your case it may be set to Manual, which means that you need to go to each order page and click on the Capture payment button to actually get the money from the authorized cards.
