I’ve tried creating multiple product templates on my shopify store to add different sections to my products in the product story section.
The first template I created in the ‘Edit Code’ section by creating a new template from product, then I assigned the products I wanted to assign to this template and it worked perfectly for these products.
However every time I create a new product template it just simply updates the default template & makes changes to all products no matter if they are assigned to the default template or the new one I have setup,
I’ve tried deleting the templates & recreating them without success.
Make sure you are creating a new template from scratch, rather than duplicating an existing template. This will ensure that you have a completely new template to work with.
When you create your new template, make sure to give it a unique name that is different from any other templates you have created.
Assign your new template to specific products by going to the product page in the Shopify admin and scrolling down to the “Theme templates” section. From there, select your new template from the dropdown menu and click “Save”.
Make sure that your new template is using a unique file name, so that it doesn’t overwrite any existing template files.
