Why aren't my product pages showing up in the Narrative theme?

Hello,

I am currently working on the Narrative theme. I am trying to add different product pages, such as, skirts, tops, dresses, accessories…etc. I also want to add a few other pages, such as, contact us, about us…etc. I created the pages but they aren’t showing up. I saw a post that said you have to select a theme when you are creating the pages. But it isn’t allowing me to choose Pages in that section. It doesn’t even come up as an option. I am able to somewhat navigate to the page but when you go to it all it is showing is “404 Page Not Found”. Can anyone help?

Hi, @Mnewland !

Can you tell me a bit more about where you’re wanting these pages to appear on your online store? It sounds like you’re in the process of creating Collections and Pages and might still need to add them to your store’s menu. Let me know if I have that right.

Once the product collections and pages have been created, you can add them to your store’s menu by going to Online Store > Navigation in the admin and selecting “Main menu”. The full step-by-step instructions for adding menu items (including a video tutorial) can be found here: Add, remove, or edit menu items in your online store.

In the Narrative theme, you can also add a Collection list or Featured collection to your home page, as well as a section like Custom content or Image with text if you want to add a brief version of your About Us page to the home page. Details for how to use each section are noted here: Sections for Narrative.

I have created the pages in the pages section on Shopify. I added a “shop” section on the menu. I want you to be able to hover onto shop and then select what section you would like to shop in, such as, accessories, shoes, skirts…etc.

I am also having issues with the main menu, The only page from the main menu that is showing up is the home page. When I click on any of the other pages they give me an error and says that the page is not found.

Thanks for sharing this additional information with me. Have you also created menu items for the pages that you’d like to see under “Shop”?

When you select Add menu item under Online Store > Navigation > Main menu, make sure that you’re also adding the link to the correct collection. Here’s what the process looks like:

Once the menu items each have links, you can click the six dots icon next to each one and drag them to the right under the Shop menu to create a drop-down menu.

If you have multiple menus listed under Online Store > Navigation, it is also a good idea to double check that the correct menu is linked to the Narrative theme. To check this, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes and click the Customize button on the Narrative theme.
  2. Select the Header section from the menu on the left.
  3. Find the NAVIGATION section on the right and confirm that the correct menu is connected.

If you have already confirmed that each of your menu items contains the correct link to the corresponding pages, our Support team is happy to investigate further and help you troubleshoot. If you’d like to, you can post your store link here in the Community and I can continue to look into this with you. Alternatively, you can get in touch with our team via live chat, email, or callback 24/7 in the Shopify Help Center.
