I am a shopify member with a USD $852.00/yr plan. I used to be able to have the buy X and get y discount feature worked (showing the promotional product) but now, I cannot use this feature. When I choose buy 2 get 1 (specific product free), it does not show as an automatic. I also changed to discount code, but did not work. Do I have to get a gift app to show? If so, any free app recommendation? Or is there any other way we could use this discount code?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I’m happy to provide some assistance with Buy X, Get Y discounts, to ensure this gets resolved. To ensure I’m fully understanding however, are both the Buy X, Get Y products being added to the cart at checkout?
To provide some context, Buy X, Get Y discounts regardless of whether they are automatic or utilize a discount code will need the “Get Y” product to be added to the cart to successfully apply at checkout. I recommend checking out our Discounts Documentation for more information on the features and limitations of the various discount types as it touches on this further.
Additionally, this type of discount should provide both options (i.e automatic and discount code) to you, upon selection when in the discount section of the admin. It seems the Buy X, Get Y discount in the screenshot provided is currently set to be an automatic discount.
