Hi
why my domain is not connected yet? l have tried many time since yesterday
Hi there, @Kaffe .
Welcome to the Shopify Community and thanks for posting your question here!
Could you please share your domain URL and a screenshot of the error message you’re seeing when trying to connect it? I’d like to look up the DNS records for your domain to see where the issue is. Can you also advise what steps you’ve taken so far to connect your domain?
When connecting a third-party domain to Shopify, you’ll first need to log in to your domain provider account and point the DNS records to Shopify’s records. For better visibility, I’ll share what steps you need to follow below.
Connecting your third-party domain to Shopify manually:
- Locate your DNS settings in your third-party domain provider account
- Point the A record to the Shopify IP address: 23.227.38.65
- Delete any other A records on the domain if there are any present.
- Point the CNAME record with the name www to: shops.myshopify.com
Once you’ve adjusted your DNS records to point to Shopify’s records, you can then connect your domain manually to Shopify.
- Log into your Shopify account
- In your Shopify admin, head to Settings > Domains section
- Click Connect existing domain
- Enter your domain name and click Next
- To confirm that your domain is connected to your Shopify store, click Verify connection.
- Please note: It can take up to 48 hours for your domain to be verified. After it’s verified, your domain is listed in the THIRD-PARTY DOMAINS section of the Domains page with the status Connected.
While you’re getting started and working on your store, give our Shopify Blog Starters resource a look through. It’s the perfect resource to ensure your store is ready for launch and that each section is set up correctly.
Let us know if you need help following the step or have additional questions.
l need Shopify TXT record, how can l find it?
Thanks for your reply, @Kaffe .
To confirm, are you looking to add the TXT record to your DNS settings in GoDaddy? You should be able to access the TXT record by finding your DNS settings in your third-party domain provider account. We have the step-by-step process included in our verifying your domain resource. However, I will share the steps below for better visibility.
Adding a TXT Record to your GoDaddy domain:
- Log in to your GoDaddy account.
- On the My Products page, click DNS beside the domain name that you want to verify.
- Click Add.
- From the Type list, select TXT.
- In the Host field, enter [email removed]
- In the TXT Value field, enter the TXT value that you copied from the Shopify admin.
- Click Save.
