Shopify wants me to pay for Plus in order to add any content or app blocks to the checkout page. Ever since we upgraded to a new theme, we no longer have room to feature the Planet app badge on our cart page. Placing it at the top of our checkout page would be a more effective way to share our commitment to sustainability with our customers while reinforcing a buying decision, but it’s not an option with the Basic subscription. It’s not worth the cost to upgrade just to add this badge to the page. Is anyone aware of a work around for this?

Platform update: Per Shopify Editions Winter 2025, “checkout blocks” will be available to all plans on the Thank You and Order Status pages. This enables post-purchase placement, but does not open the main checkout page to Basic plans.
Status: No direct way to add the Planet badge to the main checkout on Basic. Viable options are design-based placements or using post-purchase pages. No final resolution confirmed.
The sanest option is to just bake the badge into the brand image used across the top of the pages, or any background/border imagery if available.
Or into the product photography itself, or by customizing the theme to add a free line-item that has that specific badge* for it’s product image.
*in some scenarios it would normally be a sticker or brochure etc but for sustainability messaging it should probably be digital only.
For thank-you and order-status pages checkout blocks should be generally available to all plan per announcement in Shopify Editions Winter 2025
