I am paying for basic plan and when I try to change the theme of my store it keeps asking me to upgrade my plan. I have already paid for the plan and it’s still not allowing my to change themes. I have downloaded two themes but it will not allow them to be active for use without upgrading. I admin for another shop that has the same plan as me and they have no issues doing the same thing! I thought it might have been because I was on the free trial so I waited until money was pulled out but no, nothing is working! I am about to delete this shop all together if it’s not going to allow me to customize or even make collections.
Greetings, @Wearables509 .
Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention.
If you’re unable to change themes, then it’s possible that you might be using the Shopify Starter plan. Just to clarify, the Shopify Starter plan comes with the Spotlight theme and this plan does require to be upgraded (to Shopify Basic plan or higher) in order to have a fully functioning online store that can utilize the rest of our themes. Once you’ve upgraded the plan, you will be able to switch and customize your theme and you won’t lose any of your remaining trial time. Did you get a chance to review our monthly plans and features?
That being said, you can check your current plan directly within the admin. Can you confirm which plan you’re seeing in your Plan settings at the moment?
I noticed that you’re a new member of our Shopify Community! Once we’ve resolve the issue with your plan, I’d love to hear more about your business and share some resources to help you get started. What kinds of products are you selling? Do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?
