Hi, @shafey6
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble closing your store on Shopify. It’s possible that there may be additional steps or requirements for closing your store that weren’t clearly communicated to you when you initially paid the $1 fee.
To get help with closing your store, I recommend reaching out to Shopify’s customer support team directly. You can do this by logging in to your Shopify account and clicking on the “Help” button in the bottom right corner of the screen. From there, you can search for articles or contact support directly via chat, email, or phone.
Explain your situation and let them know that you’ve already paid the fee to close your store, but you’re still encountering difficulties. They should be able to assist you further and help you close your store as quickly and efficiently as possible.
I hope this helps, and good luck with closing your store.
Hey @shafey6
Thanks for reaching out here - you are very welcome to the Shopify Community.
It sounds like you are having some issues when trying to close your store. I’d be happy to help you out here.
First of all, I am sorry to hear that you want to close your store. Was there anything in particular that you were having difficulty with, that we could help you out with? Perhaps you were finding something overly challenging and we could provide you with some resources? I do understand that sometimes closing your store is the right decision however.
Any outstanding bills on the store will need to be cleared before you can close. The basic steps involved in closing your store are as follows:
- Navigate to Settings > Plan.
- Click on Deactivate Store.
- Follow the proceeding prompts and select Deactivate Store again when prompted.
It sounds like you may have already done this, and you are seeing some sort of error message that is preventing you from closing the store? If that is the case, then as @Ignelis has kindly suggested, it would be a good idea to contact our support team directly so that we can take a closer look at this and help you get the store closed.
Before you do close, there’s some important considerations to be aware of which are listed on the page linked above, so I would recommend checking that out if there’s anything you would like to keep from the store, or save for future use. Of course, if you change your mind and decide to come back, everything on the store will be kept intact for up to 2 years. You would just need to log back in within this time, and select a new plan.
