Why can't I connect a 3rd party subdomain to my online store?

I’m having an issue connecting a 3rd party subdomain to my Shopify store. I’ve followed multiple directions to no avail. My domain is hosted at Network Solutions. The main url is pointing to Bluehost - www.mydomain.com - and I’m pointing my subdomain - store.mydomain.com - to Shopify.

I tried adding a CNAME record for store and pointed it to shop.myshopify.com. That didn’t work. So I followed the advice of someone else and deleted the CNAME and added an A record for store and pointed it to 23.227.38.65.

That still doesn’t work. So I also added a www.store CNAME record and pointed it to shops.shopify.com. That doesn’t work either.

So, now I’m at the end of my rope. When I pull up the subdomain URL, I can see that the SSL is pointing at Shopify, so I feel like I’m doing things correctly.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi, @paul_wk !

It sounds like you followed the correct process on your first attempt (Connecting a third-party subdomain to Shopify). Keep in mind that it may take up to 48 hours for the domain to connect, so it’s expected that it might not work right away.

If after 48 hours, the domain still hasn’t connected with the CNAME record using the www prefix and shops.myshopify.com, I recommend contacting your domain provider for further assistance.
