why can’t i delete my non active themes.
What happening with this themes?

And so you are trying to delete the “non-live” themes in your themes library, is that correct? What happens when you click here? Do you have a screenshot of what is happening?

What browser are you using? Our next step is to try this the following way:
- Can you try it with your browser Cache cleared and perhaps with the Google Chrome Browser?
- If still nothing, can you try it in Private Browsing Mode / Chrome Incognito Mode?
Let me know if that doesn’t solve the issue.

It does not work. It is inpossible to delete. I have used a clean computer also started my chrome browser in incognito modus.
Maybe it is related to apps, which i have deinstalled, which are not worked well and damaged my theme.

That is definitely possible what you say, Norbert. Are you trying to remove any non-active themes to add more themes and you have reached the maximum amount? If not, then you could also just leave that theme there and work with a different live theme?
at the moment i have 5 damaged themes which i cannot delete.

i have at the moment more as 10 themes which i cannot delete.
I do not know why. I checked everything. It is not possible to delete.
Also new copies from a theme it is not possible to delete.
What is wrong with the system?

Hey @autall
We had that issue too. The reason is you have reached the maximum amount of themes (limit: 20) in the theme library and when you try to delete a theme the deletion process times out and you get the error “theme could not be deleted”. There is a Github issue created on this error so you will need to send in a fresh ticket to Shopify support and the technicians need to check the backend logs.

mmmh i have just installed a new theme and i am now at the limit of 20.
I had the issue with 15 themes also. Sounds strange. for 3 it was possible to delete with the other 5 which i tried it was not possible to delete.

How many previews were generated from all the theme copies which cannot be removed? What theme is that? We have had some issues with 3rd party themes generating too many accesstokens in the backend and remaining stuck as a result. Have you reported this issue to the theme developers by any chance? I would be surprised if they are unaware of this issue.
It is the Expanse theme. Very high price.
I have not developed this topic the theme developer until now. I will do it.

i tried every theme more as 100 times to delete then it works.
Perseverance always wins!
