Why can't I edit the color scheme in theme settings?

When I click on Themes Settings > Colors and then add a new scheme, the colors do not change when I edit the hex value, and I do not get the Save option. The page refreshes as if the color changed, but it does not actually change from the default blue to the red I am attempting to change it to. Any suggestions?

PS, if you’re going to add a “please fill in highlighted areas” alert, please keep in mind that 8% of men are colorblind… and a light color on a white background does not comply with accessibility standards.

I’ve even tried switching to other themes and the colors WILL NOT change.

Were you able to find a resolution? Having same issue here with “Sense” theme… changing the colors in color scheme worked yesterday, but today stopped… neither editing the color in a color scheme worked and neither did trying to select a new color scheme, it just keeps showing the old color scheme in my site.

OK just got it to sort of work by “clicking around” and editing different colors in different schemes… I haven’t figured out the rhyme/reason, but it seems to work by editing different colors in different schemes before going back to the color scheme I plan to use.

I am currently ready to pull my hair out because of this same issue! I have went in and tried everything from putting every color to the same thing in each scheme and then changing things one by one to try and get my desired look.
However, my website looks NOTHING like what my editor shows when I’m changing things out. I have scheme 9 select for one part and it’s using scheme 1; but when I change it to use scheme 1 it stays with scheme 1. It’s happening everywhere.
I’d really LOVE to see a delete option with the scheme colors too so we can remove everything not being used. However, what I do need is for these scheme colors to WORK PROPERLY; it’s never been an issue until around the version 10 or 11 update in the Sense theme.

I got around this issue by deleting all the other additional color schemes in the settings_data.json file and just left my new color scheme. You also need to update all the other instances of “scheme-” to your scheme number.

What the heck? I am having this same problem in the latest Dawn theme. I just don’t understand how such a large platform can have these bugs in basic functionality.

I spoke too soon. To get the color change active for the Product page, the Product Information section or any other section for editing must be selected and then the option to change the colors and other elements are enabled into the right hand panel. It is a bit counter intuitive since there is no edit carrot next to the label “Product Information” and throughout the interface there are typically carrots to indicated clickable functionality. It’s just bad UX, but it works. So, just click, click, click on stuff and maybe the functionality emerges. State of the art UX in 2024.
