Why can't I log into my store on Google Chrome?

Hi guys, I’m having an issue when trying to log in. Whenever I enter my store address it doesn’t continue and gives me an error which says, “We were unable to verify that your request originated from Shopify. If this is your first time seeing this error, please reload the page you were on and try again.” This always shows when I use a regular page of Google Chrome but if I try to log in using Incognito I’m able to log in and edit my store. Is there some kind of bug or something? Need help so bad. I’m trying to lunch my store soon. THANKS!!

Hi @johnwhat

To resolve the issue you’ve met, please reach out to Shopify Support team directly via their Help Center using this link. Once you visit that link and log in to your account, you can submit a support request with the team, and they’ll be happy to continue assisting you on live chat, email, or through a callback. This is the most optimum solution for your query.

If you feel like my answer is helpful, please mark it as a SOLUTION. Let me know if you have any questions!

Hey, @johnwhat !

Since the issue you’re encountering with logging in doesn’t happen in an incognito window or a private browsing window, there’s a high likelihood that it’s simply a local issue. Local issues are triggered by something on your device or your surrounding circumstances and they can be fixed by local troubleshooting. Try to clear the cookies and cache of your browser as this will potentially fix it. After clearing the cookies cache, don’t forget to completely reboot the browser. Then log in again. If this doesn’t fix the issue, please ensure the web browser is up to date on the latest version.

If none of the troubleshooting steps solve the concern, we’ll need to access your account in order to investigate this issue. While we’re not able to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community at this time, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chat, email, or callback. Please visit https://bit.ly/3cJkx8V to create a support request.

Since this is the next step I’ve marked this reply as the solution for the benefit of others who may discover this topic. Thanks!

Kind of silly to ask johnwhat to go to the help center and log in if logging in was the problem in the first place. Really?

And we pay you to host out web-sights!

@Michellecosmo To clarify, you can create a support ticket without logging into your store. If you are facing the same issue and need to contact our support team for further investigation, you may click I don’t have an account when you visit the support page.
