Users reported being unable to add bundle products when creating manual or draft orders in Shopify’s native Bundles app, receiving the error “Bundles can’t be added to orders.” This limitation frustrated merchants who needed to manually create orders with bundled items, forcing them to add products individually and defeating the purpose of using bundles.
Key Issues Identified:
Bundles worked for customer-placed orders on the storefront but not for admin-created draft/manual orders
No clear explanation from Shopify about why this restriction existed
Additional problems with variant ordering within bundles and inability to rearrange products
Resolution:
Shopify eventually fixed the issue, as confirmed by users linking to an official changelog announcing bundles are now available in draft orders. However, some users reported the fix only works when creating new orders, not when editing existing orders.
Current Status:
Mostly resolved for new draft orders, though edge cases remain (editing existing orders). One user suggested a third-party app (BOGOS) as an alternative solution for more flexible bundle management.

I was really happy to find out recently Shopify released a bundle app to create and manage bundle.
Unfortunately today when I went to create a manual order with some “product” in the bundle app, says
“Bundles can’t be added to orders”
This does not make much sense, because as customer can order pre-setted bundle product so I should or who for me, be able to add bundle product to my order.
Add them one by one, defeat completely the utility of the bundle app.
Unfortunately I can’t even add a screenshot of the error as image aren’t supported.
Actually even adding manually I see I can’t add manually more then one variant per order, this do not make sense.
What i mean, even in the manual order if I select model M, size L, once added, to add a second item with same Model and size it says it has already been added(and even so, a better option would be to have a counter for the amount)
+1 Please Fix This Shopify!
Managing Inventory with Bundles to act as Box Count SKUs makes persistent issues B2B Companies have had with Shopify easily fixed.
Being able to add Bundle Products to a Draft Order is the final step!
Does anyone who reads this have any understanding of why this limitation was placed? I’d just like to know if this is an oversight or a specific decision to address a specific use-case that could cause trouble? And if so, please articulate the use-case.
This is a big problem for us as some products are not supposed to be bought without buying a bundle. Which means some of the bundle products are drafts. This means we can’t include them in the orders we create. I really hope this gets resolved soon!
