Why can't I register a .eu domain as an Irish resident?

Hi there,

I am trying to register a eu domain as a natural person residing in an eu country but when I try to submit the order I get the message ‘Eu country of citizenship must be a valid country in the European Union’ yet my country is Ireland. Any idea how to get around this issue?

Without giving your specific address, could you confirm the whereabouts of your address is?

If you can also share a screenshot of how this appears for you in the Shopify admin, that would be great!

In cases where you’re not able to complete an action online using a form like this, it’s often a good idea to try clearing the cache on your browser before trying again.

If you could confirm, again without specifying, if your country of citizenship is also in the EU?

I can confirm that the Republic of Ireland is part of the EU, where I reside, I have also tried clearing the browser but I have the same issue. Where do I need to go within the help center to get further assistance?

To clarify, it would be your country of citizenship, not of residence I was enquiring about here.

If your country of citizenship is also an EU country you can get in touch using the Help Centre linked above.

Just enter your topic there when prompted and scroll down the screen to see your options for contacting us for account support.

There we’ll be able to view the specifics of your account and look at any other info we might be able to see on this domain purchase attempt.
