Why can't I set my shipping rates to $0.00?

Hi Shopfiy Community.

I’m having trouble setting shipping rates as $0.00. The option does not present itself inside the backend and I am stuck in a loop of clicking into various setting menus that instruct me to go back to set shipping costs and activate multi-origin shipping.

I go to settings > shipping and delivery to see the following.

I then click manage rates and within which there are no options to add rates to products. Each product is unclickable and I’m asked ‘To charge different rates for only certain products, create a new profile in shipping settings.’

When clicked i’m asked if I’d like to enable multi-orgin shipping, when I activate this takes me back to the shipping and delivery settings.

This is a constant loop that I’m stuck in. Please help as customers are currently unable to select country in the checkout.

Nick.

Hey @Nickles !

I’m not sure whether this is the cause of your issue, but it’s worth a shot:

You may need to set a default location on the locations page (settings / locations). Can you confirm whether this has already been done?

Hi, @Nickles !

I’m Miles from the Social Care team at Shopify. I’ll be happy to help troubleshoot this for you - if @ryanpwaldon 's suggestion doesn’t work.

Firstly, I’d like to make sure you’re looking in the right spot. If all your products will fall under the same shipping guidelines, you won’t need to worry about selecting products or anything. Once you’ve clicked “manage rates”, scroll down and you should see a section that looks like this:

You’ll need to add a shipping zone, so click “Create shipping zone” and choose a name for it and select the countries you’d like to ship to.

Once you’ve done that, click the 3 dots next to the next to the zone:

There, you’ll be able to add in your rates. Just make sure you save your changes before navigating away from the page. If you’d like to learn more about shipping zones and rates, check out this guide.

If you’re still having issues, please let me know.
