I have found another .COM domain name for my store. The name was pre-owned, and for sale on GoDaddy, so I had to register it with that company first.
Now I would like to transfer that new domain to my Shopify store. I have requested the transfer from GoDaddy, and they have authorized it. However, when I use the Domain Transfer feature here on Shopify, my request is denied. The website says that “****.com domains are currently not supported.” (See screenshot below).
Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention.
I understand that you’re looking to transfer a third-party domain to Shopify, and you can transfer .com domains. However, it looks like there’s an issue with the formatting of your domain. When you enter your domain (as shown), then you should be able to proceed to the next step and verify the transfer.
I’d love to hear more about your business! How are you finding the Shopify platform? Are you selling tours? If so, then are you currently selling through a different platform?
I have repeated the request with the correct domain-name format and it looks like the transfer process has started.
As per your inquiry about my business, I am not selling any tours at the moment, but am planning to start offering group adventure trips on my Shopify store shortly.
Before the pandemic I managed to plan and sell several multi-day trips in Canada and Italy (my country of origin) on other platforms. However, during the pandemic I had to put all my planned trips on hold due to the travel restrictions. Now I am still in the process of upgrading my professional training in order to comply with all the regulations for travel services here in my province, and am expecting to be ready to start selling tours again in 2 to 3 months.
