When I click on my shopping cart to view it, nothing happens. I have to right-click on it and ‘open in new window’ to view items in the cart.
Check if it has issue with your mouse or your keyboard first

Was this always happening to your cart, or is it a new issue? If it is new, this is likely an issue that you could resolve using some of the following troubleshooting steps:
- Using the Google Chrome browser, try to clear your cache and cookies by taking these steps, then check your cart again.
- Try to access it using an alternative device i.e. if you’re using a mobile device, try this on desktop.
- Reset your internet - sometimes network errors can cause similar issues.

Further digging I have found the mini cart liquid has been recently modified. if I preview the previous version of theme it works. I have advised the people that where working on my theme to have a look.
When I preview the previous theme the following will show which is correct.
looks like they have just fixed it. Not sure what the fix was thou.

I am glad to hear that it was fixed! For the future, I would recommend you take these steps here to duplicate your theme before you make any coding changes. That way, you will have a backup in case anything goes wrong, but it is also good for crosschecking issues like this - it will make it easier to identify where the issue lies!
It was some coding in the Snippet section that the developers did. I confirmed this was the case by previewing the previous Theme (didn’t know I could do this until recently - still learning Shopify).
