Why can't my customers use the payment gateway on my store?

Hello guys,my customers can’t pay through the payment gateway on my Shopify store, pls help.

Hi there @clairepafford !

Thanks for letting us know about this!

Could you confirm which payment gateway you’re referring to here, and any specific errors your customers have reported that prevent them from checking out?

Have you previously been able to accept payments using this gateway in the past or are you getting set up to sell for the first time?

If you’re happy to share a link to your store with me here, I can take a look at this from my location without being able to complete a checkout and pay.

Do you have an alternative way for your customers to pay such as a PayPal option where you are you can set up?

The more information you can give us here the better we will be able to understand and help out.

Hi [email removed]Clairepafford

If your customers are experiencing difficulties with the payment gateway on your Shopify store, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to help resolve the issue:

  1. Check your payment settings: In your Shopify admin, go to “Settings” and then select “Payment Providers.” Ensure that your preferred payment gateway is properly configured and enabled. Verify that the payment gateways credentials, such as API keys or account information, are accurate.

  2. Test with a different payment method: If you have multiple payment methods enabled, try placing a test order using a different payment method to see if the issue persists. This can help identify whether the problem is specific to a particular payment gateway or applies to all payment methods.

  3. Review error messages: If customers encounter error messages during the checkout process, pay close attention to the specific error details. Common error messages may provide insights into the cause of the issue, such as incorrect card information or billing address mismatches.

  4. Contact your payment gateway provider: If the issue persists, reach out to your payment gateway provider’s customer support. They can help investigate the problem from their end and provide guidance on any configuration or technical issues.

  5. Reach out to Shopify support: If you’re unable to resolve the payment issue with your payment gateway provider, it’s recommended to contact Shopify’s customer support. They can offer assistance and further investigate the problem, ensuring that your payment gateway integration with your Shopify store is functioning correctly.

Hope my solution works perfectly for you.

Cheers!
