I have been running a discount code ‘F&F’ since August 2020 and it has been used hundreds of times without issues. suddenly I started receiving complaints that it was not working anymore and the message they received was: “Enter a valid discount code” nothing had changed with the settings of the discount code, I tried to use it myself and received the same message. I created a new code ‘FandF’ with the same conditions and it worked, when I replaced it with F&B instead it didn’t work. so I assume it is the & character causing the issue. but the problem is this was working before. any help is appreciated. Thanks for flagging this, and you are indeed you are right that this has to do with the special character being used.
This issue you are experiencing is the result of an update recently made to Shopify Checkout so special characters in discounts codes no longer work, our devs are aware of this issue and looking into this. I’ve also flagged this as feedback with them for review. For now, no special characters will work, so apologies for any inconvenience this has caused for you and your customers.
I had a peek at your website and I admire the clean and crisp aesthetic of your store. It’s not overwhelming or cluttered, and it creates a customer-friendly experience. Your attention to detail in creating such a pleasing design is commendable. Well done! One thing, I did notice is that you still have ‘Powered By Shopify’ in the footer of your store. By removing this, it helps keeps your brand consistent and avoids confusing customers. It is quite inconvenient to handle the Friends and Family complaints with their code not working and now having to send out replacement codes.
