My card was credited on the day I registered, but then I see a payment failure message for insufficient funds. I currently have more than 12 euros on my card.

That being said, I’d also recommend double checking your billing, and the curreny you’re being billed in, in your Shopify admin to ensure you have sufficient funds for the total posted there.
