Why did our Shopify app review status change back?

Dear Community,
Is Shopify Support team not supporting anymore? Are you experiencing the same thing that we are experiencing?

We submitted our app on 5th March 2026

Someone from Shopify review team tested our app on 19th & 20th March & The status changed to “We are reviewing your app” (We can see that from app history )

But suddenly we found that the app status change back to “We’re assigning a reviewer” & we were not been updated for that.

We kept contacting the Shopify Support team and receiving so many generic replies we got an update that they will keep us updated via email within 5 working days for the review status on March 29. The 5 working days gone, we haven’t received any update and so we contacted with the support team again.

But now the support is saying, they can’t commit any estimated time line we just need to wait and wait. They don’t know when we will it be reviewed or approved. Keep telling us the generic things, what we understood the support team has no connection with the review team. This is very disappointing.

One small thing to mention: we already published an app that has built for Shopify badge also.
