Why did PayPal automatically refund my sales after connecting it to my store?

Hello, I recently made a store and actually made a couple sells but I did not have my PayPal or credit card on synced to my shopify store. The payments were pending so I followed the instructions and created a PayPal account but once I completed the process of connecting the account and my store, the sells were automatically refunded to the purchasers and never captured in my PayPal. What do I do? I’m flabbergasted.

Did you get anyone to help you or ever resolve this?

I can only imagine how many people this happens to. Including myself on our very first order! Which should be exciting, but now a problem.
