What I find particularly strange is that the store that was reinstated had no products listed at all, while the three stores whose appeals were rejected already had products listed.
I would like to understand why this happened. Could changing my USD account have triggered these store access restrictions? I have not violated any policies or done anything wrong, so I am very confused and concerned about why these restrictions were placed on my stores.
Could this have happened because I changed my USD account?
Yes, but I think it could have just been the straw that broke the camel’s back. You already have multiple instances of possible strikes against you, just knowing what you wrote in previous posts. The post included mention of numerous dmca claims.
So yes it was likely a combination, though none of us are shopify staff so who knows…
It’s hard to say for sure without knowing what triggered the restrictions, but changing the USD account could have triggered an automated review. The fact that one store was reinstated while the others were rejected suggests there may be account or store specific factors involved rather than the currency change alone.
Shopify has many different internal triggers for such things, I’d recommend reaching out to Shopify Support about this. It could have likely been an automated trigger, unless there was other things going on, only Shopify can see that though
it’s possible the timing isn’t a coincidence, but i wouldn’t assume changing the USD account itself caused the restrictions. Shopify can run automated risk/compliance checks when payment or financial information changes, and having several stores tied to the same account can mean one review affects multiple stores.
the fact that one store was reinstated while the others weren’t doesn’t necessarily mean the products were the reason either. the automated review could be looking at information that’s not visible from the storefront, so the empty store being reinstated isn’t enough to establish a pattern.
i’d reply to the appeals/support team specifically asking whether the restrictions were triggered by the USD account/bank-account change and whether the four stores were flagged by the same automated review. I’d also avoid repeatedly changing payment or account details while the reviews are open, since that could introduce more variables.
if you post the actual restriction email/rejection reason (with any personal or banking information removed), that would make it much easier to tell whether Shopify is referring to payments, account risk, policy enforcement, or something else.
Hi there @as1515
A change is a USD bank account might have triggered an automated risk review, especially if the same payment or business details are used across multiple stores. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the account change led to the restriction or that a policy was broken. The variance between the stores also doesn’t prove that it was the products. I would keep your business information, payment information, and ownership information the same across all stores, avoid making any more account changes while the reviews are in process, and in each appeal make clear the timing of the bank change and your legitimate business.
