Why do edits to one section template affect all in the Narrative theme?

hello,

I have been using the theme “narrative” and have created my own section templates and assigned them to the page. But when you edit one, it edits all of them with the same thing at the same time. The only things that I have come across is assigning them to a page but I have already done that. Is there a certain link or code I should be implementing in the template to directly pinpoint that section for that page? I was also confused on the extra code handle on the “pages” section of the theme editor, does that have something to do with it?
