Why do my nested collections disappear on the second level?

Trying to further define my product by using nested collections.

Everything works fine until I move collections to a second level of nesting. The collection disappears.

Any thoughts

Your theme code may not have taken the third level of navigation into mind for whatever reason. What theme are you using?
