I was trying a test email with the shopify email app. My emails are going to spam for Gmail accounts (@gmail.com) only. Worked fine with other email accounts.
It is password protected. I share password if needed.
Thank you.

Hey there, @brust1226 . Thanks for coming to the Shopify Community with your situation regarding gmail accounts and spam. I’m more than happy to take some time to chat with you about this.
Good idea to do such extensive email testing! We’ve noticed that, due to Google’s more strict email filtering, that Shopify emails will sometimes find their way into the spam, or even the promotions, inbox of gmail account users. This has little to do with your store’s email setup, and is mostly controlled by Google’s filters.
Thankfully, Google has provided some documentation on things that you can do to allow for your emails to hit the standard gmail inbox, instead of having them find their way to spam. I recommend checking out this resource from Google as it contains helpful tips for you to consider implementing into your domain.
Hopefully you find the above information helpful. If you have any additional questions, please reach back out here and let us know.
Hey there I was running into a similar issue whenever I sent myself test emails through Shopify Email until I followed these instructions:
Add CNAME records to your third-party domain to connect to the Shopify SPF and DKIM records
You can help to ensure that your email message reaches your customer by adding CNAME records to your third-party domain to connect it to the Shopify SPF and DKIM records. If you need help to modify your CNAME records, then contact your domain provider.

Hey there, @Ming_Sendif and @brust1226 . Hope you’re both doing well!
Thanks so much for jumping in here with that information, @Ming_Sendif . If our OP here is indeed using a third party domain, then the information you’ve provided them will absolutely help them in ensuring that their emails reach their customers as expected! @brust1226 , if you’re using a third-party domain, please check out the information that was shared with us above to see how you can get your domain conntected to Shoify’s SPF and DKIM records!
If you’re using a Shopify-Managed domain, then the information I’ve shared with you in my original reply still stands. If you’re looking to do additional testing of your domain and emails, or if you’d like some additional information, you can reach out to our Live Team!
