Why do some orders appear in bold font?

As per below screenshot, what is the implication of some orders being listed in BOLD font?

I cannot see a relation to “unread”, fulfillment, payment status etc. They do seem to change from bold to not-bold, but I cannot establish what the trigger is for this change.

Welcome to Shopify Community. My name is Olivia and I work here.

The orders that are bolded are considered to be open. In order to grey them out you will need to archive them. This can be done with bulk actions by selecting each order you want to archive and clicking more actions > archive orders.

Note:

Additionally, you can choose to automatically archive paid and fulfilled orders by heading to Settings > Checkout > Order Processing as such**:**
