Why do we get a link for discounts with a discount code, but not for automatic discounts?

I don’t understand why Shopify will generate a link to use in advertising when we create a discount code but they do not offer a link when we have an automatic discount. We WANT to advertise our automatic discounts to our online community, and use one automatic discount that applies both online and in our retail store on the point of sale system. Currently Shopify does not allow or generate a link for automatic discounts. I fail to understand why. It seems to me that it would be the same amount of effort and coding as it is for the discount code (or even less, as there is no code they have to apply). This makes it very hard for us to advertise our sales in our newsletters when we have set automatic discounts.

We use the automatic discounts because the Shopify POS system is so painful to use at checkout, we can not afford to waste even more time while the client is standing there frustrated with how long it takes for the Shopify POS system to check them out. We need a simple link to include in our online advertising please.

@petgrocer There’s no code for the automatic discounts

Automatic discounts are not content, automatic discounts are not products.

Things that aren’t content don’t get urls/endpoints~~

Automatic discounts are based on cart contents for the allocations to… allocate.

No cart contents no automatic discount.

To prefill a cart/checkout use permalinks, or create a custom system with the ajax api for the online-store-channel theme etc.

If this is in a supermarket context shopify-POS and shopify itself is really is not built for that, wrong tools lead to frustration.

Further re-examine how your presenting this; what does the person standing in the retail store for POS have to do with nya online advertising that would link to an online presence; they are they for in-person checkout not online browsing and checkout.
