I created some discounts which automatically give purchasers a second item free of charge, when they ordered an item. Due to the way shopify transacts this in the cart I decided to delete these discounts ie deleted & removed completely from our online store.
However now when you add a product to the cart, shopify is still adding two products to the cart as though the discount still exists. I have logged out & back in several times. I have cleared my browser cache. I have also tested this on another computer, and on my phone. Same problem of two items added to the cart.

Do you make some changes to the code for this discount? One tip is that if you have copies of your theme then check with some other theme old theme.

No changes to the product codes were made.
I have resorted to a previous theme copy, still same issue.

I added 3 random products and free of charge item is not added.
Apologies as I should have indicated products in 'The Cellar’ Collection.
However I have just been there to check again & only ONE item is being added now - seriously ?

Yes I’d have to say it is.
Only conclusion I can make is that deleting discounts takes an age to clear from the system.
