When I create my collection it has a basic clean white background with my classic header at the top BUT when I add an image to the Collection it turns the top into a ugly gray and puts a new header on the page. How can I change this/why is this happening?

You mentioned that you noticed a difference in appearance when adding an image to your collections. To confirm, when the image is not uploaded, the collection has a white background with your standard header, but once added, the background turns grey and adds another header to your page?
Although this change can be caused by many factors, I’d love to know some additional information so that we can troubleshoot the issue together. For instance, are you able to share the link to your collection page? As well as the theme that you are currently using?
In the meantime, If you are using a third-party theme, you can contact your theme developer to learn more about factors that are affecting this issue and see how it could be resolved.
